Modern Day Mrs. Claus

I never thought I would say this, but there will be no Christmas tree for me this year. Having just moved into our house a little over a week ago and still waiting on some crucial pieces of furniture (i.e. sofa, chairs), it just doesn't seem like the right environment to bring in an innocent little Fraser Fir. Especially since we would have to sit on the floor to marvel at it and tell it how lovely its branches are - it. deserves. better.

With that being said, I have resolved to redirect the usual intensity and pizzazz I save for the Christmas tree into some holiday collages. Lucky (or not so lucky) for you, this means a whole lot of festive, glittery things that are as fun and sparkly as they may be impractical. But then again, so are Christmas trees...

The Art of Mod

Santa Claus came early this year, because there is nothing in the whole wide world that gets me as jazzed up as a themed par-tay. And this Friday is the "Art of Mod Cocktail Parties" shindig thrown by the T.A.O. Club, a Houston based social club founded by Nina Delano that produces hands-on learning experiences designed to help communities discover new creative passions. I'm extra jazzed up to be on the host committee for this event, which involves a partnership with the Houston Symphony and yummy drinks by Julep and yummier bites by The Orderves Company

If you're in Houston and want to join in this more-than-MODerate amount of fun, we'll be more than happy to accomMODate you - just send me a message! The only rules are no dressing up in MODeration and cheesy puns are MO(n)Datory.

Muchas Gracias

Among the things I'm thankful for this year are: you, the ability to channel my online shopping addition to a semi-productive end, and those who have made this hobby of mine more fun than I thought possible.

Also especially thankful for (after today's lunch) athleisure, your forgiving me for majorly slacking on cyber everything this week (moving into a new casa tomorrow!), and Over the Moon for providing me with non-stop inspo (like this post on what to wear when meeting your future in-laws this weekend - go get em' tiger!). The list goes on, but the spark note version is: MUCHAS GRACIAS!!!

It's a Nice Day for a Black Wedding

The dilemma of all dilemmas: your favorite color is black, but you don't want people to think your soul is just as dark. What to do, what to do. I'll tell you what to do - check out the collage I made for Over the Moon's post on How to Wear Black to a Wedding (without looking like you're going to a funeral) and consider you're ebony troubles solved.
