Thanksgiving Fast Forward

Today I am doing this thing where I'm cognitively placing myself at the end of November in an effort to have a little taste of the mental release that awaits me. So, as I indulge myself in this bizarro exercise, here are a few of the relatively-not-so-important things I will be thankful for: completed assignments, met deadlines, and finished to-do lists. I know this talk of being busy is getting old (together with my general appearance), but if you add a fun Thanksgiving outfit (and entertainment goodies - hello Rebecca Gardner where have you been my whole life?) like these to the mix then you'll want to fast forward too.

How to (Enjoy the) Hunt: Cloche Designs

There's no party like a Cloche Designs party. So when they created a "Home from the Hunt" themed dinner party (peep the details below), I brought back this hunting-themed post and wrote a lil' somethin' to celebrate my new excuse to partake in Texas' favorite pastime. Check it out here

Monumental Monday

My walk to work is usually 15 minutes and is usually made up of my taking mental laps around the week's to-do list. This morning, however, there was something different in the stale air of the downtown Houston tunnels. It may have something to do with the Astros' epic win last night or perhaps its just the witchy vibes the universe is directing my way. The point is I imagined I was wearing this - and with my powers of self-delusion alone - I am feeling quite invincible. Now imagine how monumental I would feel if I actually owned any of it...

Scary Times Ahead

Stating the obvious here: Halloween is a few sleeps away. Also just around the corner for me are plenty of work deadlines, a move to a new house, a handful of birthdays for my near and dears, and weekend travels to weddings and the like for the rest of the upcoming month. Scary busy times, indeed.

So please forgive my loss of momentum on posts - I promise the bloggy-blog is still on my to-do list - but the list just doesn't seem to stop growing lately. What will never stop growing, however, is my pash-un for fash-un and my love of costume. Here are a few contenders for my second-favorite holiday:

Galvan Comes to Texas

After doing some serious drooling over the Vogue feature on Bumble CEO Whitney Wolfe's out of this world Positano wedding, my mind kept going back to this image of her bridesmaids looking otherworldly in their colorful, silky shift dresses. I'm 99.9% positive they're Galvan, the London-based evening wear label and I'm 99.9% positive I need/want one.

On a typical October Thursday morning like today, you can catch me day dreaming of holiday parties under twinkling lights and wrapping some fur around a silk shift accessorized with some sparkles (these are my confessions). But on a not-so-typical Wednesday - next week (Oct. 25th) - you can catch Galvan in Houston! Founders Carolyn Hodler and Katherine Holmgren are paying a little visit to Texas with a series of trunkshows - be sure to email me if you're interested. You will certainly see me there (hopefully not drooling).
